CAMP Research Directions for 2024-2027 

Guided by the CAMP Research Agenda 2012, the National Unified Health Research Agenda (NUHRA) 2023-2028, and the Department of Science and Technology’s Health Research and Development Agenda 2022-2028, the CAMP faculty identified 4 themes that will guide the college’s research endeavors in the next 3-4 years: 

1. Evidence-driven and transformative allied health education

    • Knowledge, skills, and attitudes of educators
    • Faculty development and mentoring
    • Teaching-learning methods
    • Student learning
    • Educational outcomes
    • Integration of technology
    • Interprofessional education

2. Responsive and capable professionals

    • Knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practice patterns of professionals
    • Distribution in terms of geography, clinical settings, practice areas, etc.
    • Retention and migration

3. Filipino-centric quality service

    • Understanding typical/normal development among Filipinos
    • Culturally-appropriate/relevant tools (scales, checklists, tests, etc.)
    • Service delivery models/programs appropriate for the local context
    • Clinical practice guidelines, care pathways, and decision-making tools
    • Healthcare technologies
    • Health systems (health governance and policies, health information systems, etc.)
    • Interprofessional collaboration

4. Healthy and resilient Filipinos

      • Health of at-risk and vulnerable populations (epidemiologic research)
      • Health promotion and disability prevention
      • Healthy communities (includes schools/universities and workplaces)
      • Health literacy, communication, and education
      • Resilience and sustainability (includes disaster risk management)
      • Health financing
      • Inclusion

Special areas of interest include: mental health; maternal and reproductive health (e.g., pelvic health)
