CAMPers Participate in the Futures Thinking Educational Caravan

On February 27, 2025, students, faculty, and staff of the UP Manila College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) participated in the CAMP leg of the UP Manila Futures Thinking Initiative – Educational Caravan. Held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN in Room 202-203, the event was an opportunity to explore strategic foresight and futures thinking, key areas that can shape the future of the college and its key stakeholders.

The session began with an introduction by Associate Professor and University Scientist Emerito Jose A. Faraon, MD, MBA. His presentation provided a comprehensive overview of “futures,” futures thinking, and strategic foresight, introducing key concepts and practical approaches to anticipating and navigating change.

CAMP representatives—Assistant Professor Ellyn Cassey K. Chua, Associate Professor Yves Y. Palad, and Associate Professor Aila Nica J. Bandong—each presented an insightful overview of the components of the Foresight Framework. They shared concrete examples and strategies for applying futures thinking in academic and professional contexts, equipping the audience with a broader perspective on how to envision future plausibilities.

The event sparked engaging questions from our very own CAMPers, who expressed their enthusiasm for embracing the challenge of futures thinking and its potential to guide both professional and institutional growth. The positive energy reflected the college’s readiness to tackle the future with open minds and innovative solutions.

Dean Esmerita R. Rotor closed the session with a strong message, emphasizing CAMP’s commitment to futures thinking. She encouraged everyone to not only stay grounded in the college’s core values but also soar towards new possibilities that will shape the future of UP and all CAMPers.
