CAMP Hosts Practice Placement Education Workshop 3

Earlier this December, the College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) held a one-day workshop on December 8, gathering 40 practice placement educators. This workshop was the final installment of the practice placement education series for the year, and aimed to enhance participants’ skills in promoting ethical and professional behaviors, providing effective feedback with a growth mindset, and supporting the well-being of student clinicians. The continuing education (CE) activity was offered by the College free of charge as part of its 62nd Foundation Celebration.

The program featured a series of interactive lectures, including Professional and Ethical Behaviors Expected of an Educator by Asst. Prof. Kristofferson G. Mendoza, MPT, PTRP; A Clinical Educator’s Guide to Giving Feedback that Works by Asst. Prof. Rozelle Francesca K. Bentulan, MAEd, RSLP; and Basic Helping Skills for Clinical Educators by Mr. Dominic U. Cheoc, OTRP, and Asst. Prof. Kristel Faye M. Roderos, MAHPS, OTRP.

Participants also engaged in small-group workshops to apply the knowledge and skills discussed during the lectures. These sessions were facilitated by the speakers alongside CAMP faculty members, including Prof. Aila Nica J. Bandong, PhD, PTRP; Assoc. Prof. Yves Y. Palad, EdD, PTRP; Mr. Marlowe Eriberto P. Acuña, OTRP; and Dean Mia Rotor, PhD, PTRP.

The event was part of CAMP’s continuing professional development series, designed to equip clinical and internship educators with updated strategies and best practices for guiding occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech pathology, and clinical audiology students during their practice placements.

We invite interested practice placement educators to look out for next year’s continuing education activities, which will offer more opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement!
