The University of the Philippines College of Allied Medical Professions (UP CAMP) has officially been granted Level I Accredited Status by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) for its BS Occupational Therapy, BS Physical Therapy, and BS Speech Pathology programs. This milestone affirms the College’s commitment to excellence in allied health education and recognizes its sustained efforts to uphold high standards of quality, relevance, and continuous improvement.

The accreditation status follows the formal PAASCU accreditation visit conducted on March 16–17, 2026. As part of the process, the College underwent a comprehensive evaluation of its academic programs, resources, systems, and outcomes. The PAASCU accrediting team was composed of Dr. Ma. Encarnacion Dychangco, who served as Team Chair for Research and Results; Dr. Ma. Cecilia Licuan and Assoc. Prof. Ma. Luisa Valenzuela for the Teaching-Learning area; Mr. Jerome Coligado for Resource Management; and Dr. Iris Chua So for External Relations and Results. Throughout the two-day visit, the PAASCU accreditors conducted meetings with key College and University personnel, representative groups of faculty, staff, and students, and carried out classroom observations as part of the accreditation process.

Preparations for the visit were spearheaded by the CAMP Quality Assurance Committee, led by Asst. Prof. Kristofferson Mendoza together with Asst. Prof. Michael Valdez, Asst. Prof. Charlemaine Deanne Perez, Ms. Kristin Marielle Topacio, Asst. Prof. Thomas Quiros, Assoc. Prof. Yves Palad, Administrative Officer Rizza Florentino, and Ms. Vanessa Cosio. The Committee worked closely with the CAMP Social Special Events Committee, headed by Asst. Prof. Carlos Olegario, as well as volunteer faculty, staff, and students who contributed to the successful conduct of the accreditation visit.

CAMP is grateful to the Chancellor Dr. Michael L. Tee, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Bernadette Heizel Manapat-Reyes, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Dr. Johanna Patricia Cañal, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Jose Tecson III, Director of the UP Manila Quality Assurance Office Dr. Bhabita Murjani, Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension Dr. Leslie Michelle Dalmacio and other various officials who took part, for their support throughout the accreditation process.

The granting of Level I Accredited Status marks an important achievement for UP CAMP and reflects the collective dedication of its faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners. As the College moves forward, it remains steadfast in its mission of producing competent, compassionate, and socially responsive health professionals who contribute meaningfully to the health and well-being of Filipinos and communities worldwide.
