The UP College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) honored Former Dean Maria Eliza R. Aguila and her Executive Committee for their unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership, spanning two terms from 2018 to 2024. The testimonial event, titled “Pasasalamat sa Matatag at Tapat na Pamumuno,” took place on September 17, 2024, at Chelsea Hall, Hotel Kimberly Manila.

The event opened with a heartfelt recorded message from Former Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Nymia P. Simbulan, who highlighted Dean Mar’s steadfast leadership during the pandemic. She was particularly commended for spearheading the introduction and management of the Learning Management System, Canvas, of the entire UP Manila during a time when no one was familiar with the platform.

CAMP Dean Mia Rotor followed with a tribute, recognizing Dean Aguila’s significant contributions to transformative education, enhanced research initiatives, impactful public service, and unwavering support for faculty, students, and administration.

Former UP Manila Chancellor Carmencita D. Padilla also joined the celebration via Zoom, sharing her first encounter with Dean Aguila as a young faculty member. She expressed her confidence in Dean Mar’s potential to achieve great things within the University and encouraged younger faculty to embrace leadership opportunities within the college.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of Dean Aguila’s portrait, which will be displayed in the CAMP hallway alongside those of other trailblazing deans, honoring her legacy.

Dean Aguila was joined at the event by her husband, Mr. Eric Aguila, her sister Liezl Roca, and her brother-in-law Jerry Roca, making the celebration a small yet joyous #CAMPamilya affair.
