UP Manila CAMP Shines in November 2024 SLP Licensure Examination

The University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila) has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence, with all 36 graduates from the College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) passing the November 2024 Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Licensure Examination. This outstanding performance secured UP Manila’s recognition as one of the top-performing schools with a perfect 100% passing rate.

Adding to this achievement, half of the examinees recognized in the Top 10 scorers also hailed from UP Manila, underscoring the institution’s role in shaping top-tier professionals in the field. The licensure examination, administered by the Philippine Regulatory Board of Speech-Language Pathology, was held in NCR, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Lucena.

These accomplishments reflect UP Manila’s mission of upholding honor and excellence in the service of the nation, preparing its students to address the evolving needs of SLP in the Philippines.

Top-ranking CAMPers shared their insights on their journey toward success and their vision for the profession. Ally De Guzman, who ranked second, highlighted the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. “It was really helpful for me to root my understanding of concepts based on my internship experiences, as compared to primarily memorizing concepts,” she shared.

Other topnotchers, including Ji Hee Lee (Rank 7), Lui Nozawa (Rank 5), and Ging Varca (Rank 2), expressed their commitment to serving underserved regions and provinces, emphasizing the need for accessible SLP services nationwide.

Diana Palma (Rank 4) attributed her success to CAMP’s holistic approach to education. She credited the nurturing environment and supportive faculty for fostering an appreciation of the important role of SLPs and for emphasizing the need for a well-rounded education to equip graduates not just with the knowledge, but also the skills and attitudes essential for professional practice.

UP CAMP continues to inspire future generations of allied health professionals to uphold excellence, serve the underserved, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the SLP profession in the Philippines. Padayon, mga RSLPs ng Bayan!
